Wednesday

It's been a while since I've written on my blog, but today I felt the need to write, to express the latest occurrences in the small world that is ME. The weekend was the greatest, started Friday night with taking second place on the poker tournament, came home with $90 in earnings, not bad for being away from the tables for over six months. Saturday was a day of rest and online gaming; we took the journey out to Pasadena and ended up at Johnny Rockets. DJ had been craving fries and chicken fingers so we had to let her have her once in a month “pick your meal”; you see, she has this thing called GERD, she cant have any fried food and or a million other things, her life has been miserable because of it and she also dropped seven pounds because of her limited fat intake, she’s a whole lot better since being diagnosed and the medication is definitely working. We ventured into the Mac store after the 5 star meals and played around with the computers, looked at monitors, I like the clean and simple look of the computers, maybe I’ll get one the next time I buy a computer, who knows!

Sunday was the day we visited Santa Monica pier, DJ had wanted to do something with us and since the summer weather is upon us it was a great opportunity to visit that place. Once we were there we all stated that we were hungry; seems like I’m just writing about food with this entry, lol, with that said we had lunch and Bubba Gump Shrimp. I’m sure you remember it, the place that serves a million kinds of shrimps, but of all the things that were in my sampler platter I ended up loving the hushpuppies, these weren’t “orinary” hushpuppies, these were fried cornbread with corn, rice, and a little mixture of other stuff that my palate couldn’t decipher. The rest of my platter was good, the usual battered shrimp with sauces was OK, but I don’t I’m dying to go back to BGS to have their shrimp. While we were there we noticed a memorial that had been there for over a year now, it’s a memorial for soldiers fallen in Iraq, and the veteran group who’s put it together will continue to do so until the US pulls all of their troops out of Iraq. I took a few pictures that day and its one thing to hear the number, over 2000 soldiers KIA, but another is to see the actual crosses, stars, and cress’ of all those who’ve died. It was hard not to shed a tear thinking of all those poor boys and girls out there fighting a war in a country that deserves freedom but one that is not supporting the efforts to make the process a lot smoother. That same day DJ rode the coaster and games, and I even played a bounce the ball and make it in a basket game, I studied a few people, their throws and even felt OK I got this, I’ll be able to make it. When time came to throw the ball I was a whole lot closer to making it to the basket than missing, but I still didn’t win the big prize.

This would end my entry and with it you've seen some of the pictures I took of the Memorial, hope you have enjoyed.
